No two pieces of wood are alike.  The process of woodturning is a search to find the special qualities in each piece of wood.  Each piece varies with species, age, and part of the tree.  Each will yield a unique color, texture and grain.  The discovery of what each piece of wood reveals is what makes woodturning an exciting adventure.

The vases and candlesticks’ simple design highlights the special color and texture of each piece of wood. 

Glass inserts allow the vases to hold both water and cut flowers.  

The candlesticks combine several contrasting woods or concrete, yet maintain a form that brings out the special characteristics of the materials.  The boxes are small and simple in shape.  Each incorporates darker woods for the bases and decorative finial handles.
